I have Sam Root from Saltyshores.com in Louisiana with me. We have been searching for large redfish on fly but the weather is not cooperating. Sam has taken some good pictures but we are hoping to have a break in the weather and catch some big reds on fly. I will keep you posted.

Had another great day. 27 pounder on fly and many other shots before the scum sky covered us. Messed around with some 7-13 pound fish that were crawling in the creeks on low tide. We had one backing coming right at us, the whole Vantage skiff was blocking the fish from getting out, Will hooked the fish, when he came at the boat we heard nothing but a thud, then the fish threw himself up on the mud and slithered back into the water, pretty cool to see them do that especially when he ended up being 13 pounds. Great day fly fishing in Louisiana.

The last 3 days of fishing has been spectacular to say the least here in Louisiana. We landed 7 redfish over 25 pounds on fly. The biggest being a 29 pound fish today, one black drum that weighed 46 pounds on fly and tons of other smaller fish in the 7-15 pound range. We have had a bunch of shots at big fish and I can’t wait to get back at it tomorrow. The weather has stabalized a little and the fish are starting to act right again. Tight lines

Terrible weather again on the Louisiana marsh today but that didn’t stop us. Wind was 20-30 mph, no sun, cold and drizzling rain. Still found cleans water and a few fish. Landed some nice 10-12 lb reds and ended the day with a pig, 27 pound redfish that we sight fished on spinning gear. Looks like the weather is gonna get better, thank God! back at it for the next 7 days. Tight line.
Got Marc and Graham in Louisiana for four days. First day was pretty good fishing even thought the fog was thick. We landed four redfish over 20 pounds and had a number of other good shots on fly. Got rained out today but we are back at it tomorrow.

Today I got redemption. We landed an 18 & 25 pound redfish along with a few other smaller ones. We got a few more shots at some huge redfish along with some shots at black drum. The Fog was insane today. We couldn’t see 20yrds in front of the boat all day, thank god for the GPS. Fly casting in uptown new orleans on Claiborne ave. EPIC!
Rain please go away! Got me couped up at the house wishing I was breaking my new boat in…
